Reconfirm with your credit card company – several times if need be, that you will be traveling.
Even though you no longer have to notify your bank when you travel, confirm with them
anyway. It may save your card getting confiscated by a bank (as happened to me in Argentina).
Print out maps. Yeah I know, do it anyway. Really, do it.
Download a language app on your phone.
Keep your phone charged at all times as you never know if your hotel will have stable power or
the internet.
If you are shopping for something specific, make sure you have a photo of it before you go.
Always pack your sense of humor and your patience. Tylenol isn’t a bad idea either. Or Mace…
